ABOUT US

ā€‹

Hi everyone. We're Rachel and Wills, and we’ve been together forever (well 26 years – man that’s a long time) and we both work in the arts industry. Wills is a sound engineer and sound designer and Rach is a dance teacher and choreographer.  We live in North Wales and if the recent pandemic taught us anything, it is that our favourite days are those spent together and those when we are out and about exploring. So we thought, why not share it with you guys.

HOW WE STARTED

ā€‹

It all started during the lockdown of 2020. We don’t watch a lot of TV, but when we do, our favourite thing is travel programs. During this time, we quickly exhausted the Joanna Lumley's, Chris Tarrant's and your Richard Ayoade's. Jane Macdonald? Tick – seen 'em all.  We couldn’t travel ourselves, so where could we go? YouTube apparently.

ā€‹

To us, YouTube was always a place you went to to find a video of how to fix a problem, or to watch some music videos, who knew it was watched by many people as a TV channel in itself, and that something called a, 'travel vlog' was even a thing.

ā€‹

Despite a fear of even having our photos taken, after watching some of these travel vlogs, we got inspired, we decided to, 'suck it up' and have a go at making some of these videos. Guess what? It turned out that we absolutely loved making them, so decided to commit to posting a video every week. We've been going just over a year now, and are loving it even more. We have met some incredible people on YouTube, many of which we are now proud to be able to call them friends.

All our videos are light hearted and fun, but usually have plenty of information about a place and often snippets of history.

Exploring Oswestry - Top Things To Do In Oswestry Guide

Welcome to this, Exploring Oswestry - Top Things To See And Do In Oswestry Guide Vlog. We recently took a trip into the county of Shropshire, near the Welsh / English border and visited the lovely town of Oswestry and we loved Exploring Oswestry and want to bring you this Top Things To See And Do In Oswestry Guide. We'd only visited Oswestry briefly once before, so thought it was time to come and find the top things to see and do in Oswestry and bring you this Exploring Oswestry Vlog Guide. Although fairly small, Oswestry is a fascinating town rich in history. #oswestry #shrophire #thingstodoinoswestry We started off our Exploring Oswestry adventure by visiting the Old Oswestry Hillfort, originally built in the Iron Age (800BC to AD43), it remained in use for almost 1000 years. A short drive into the town of Oswestry was next, with the first stop being the Oswestry Indoor Market, a very lovely market with an excellent community feel. We explored the town of Oswestry, the old buildings, the memorial garden, St Oswald's Church and much more, before getting some lunch at the Griffin Inn. The Griffin Inn in Oswestry was said to do the best food on Trip Advisor, so we thought we'd check it out - it did not disappoint!! The food was excellent, as was the service and the atmosphere. Next was a look around the Oswestry Cambrian Railway Museum. It wasn't open this day, but there was still plenty to see. After another quick look around town, we went up to the Oswestry Castle Mound. There's not much of the castle left, but it's still fascinating to see and read about all of the history that took place there. We finished our day off with a trip to the British Ironworks Centre, a few miles outside Oswestry, and wow, this was something else! We had passed the British Ironworks Centre a number of times over the past year and always thought about paying it a visit, and I'm so glad we did. The British Ironworks Centre is an award winning attraction for all ages and features incredible pieces of at, completely made from scrap and reclaimed metal. There is also an excellent shop, cafƩ, exhibitions, walking trails and much more. The British Ironworks Centre is also the original home of the famous Knife Angle sculpture, which is currently touring the UK. The British Ironworks Centre really is stunning. We only had an hour or so to spare to look around, but could have easily spent the best part of the day there. We will definitely be returning there in the near future. As usual, we sum up our day in at home with a well deserved drink, although, as we film this, it's 'Dry' January. so only soft drinks for us. In our sum up, we give a shout out to two friends of ours who have released some great music recently. The links can be found below. This really is an ultimate Top Things To See And Do In Carlisle vlog. Our trip to Carlisle started off with checking into our favourite Carlisle Hotel, The Crown and Mitre, a stunning building right in the heart of the city of Carlisle. We take a look around Carlisle's Market Square, checking out the famous post box, Town House, market cross, old Guild Hall building before taking a look around the famous old Roman streets and down towards the Carlisle Sands Centre, a place Rach holds very dear. In this Carlisle City guide, we continue to look at the most amazing buildings, old pubs and restaurants and give you our recommendations. We take a break and enjoy a drink in the old Kings Head Pub, as well as the Boardroom Pub, we have a lovely Italian meal at Franco's in the old Guild Hall building, we visit the Victorian Market Hall where bands such as ACDC, Thin Lizzy, The Who, The Jam, The Smiths and Iron Maiden have all played. We look inside the stunning Carlisle Cathedral, walk the Carlisle West Walls and peek inside St Cuthbert's Church. #carlisle #cumbria #exploringvlog We look at the beautiful Abbey Street and Tullie museum but no trip to Carlisle is complete without a trip inside the beautiful Carlisle Castle. Let us show you around Carlisle Castle, which once held residence to Mary, Queen of Scots. Before we head for home, we had to take a short drive from Carlisle and visit Hadrian's Wall. Of all the years of visiting and working in Carlisle, we had never visited Hadrian's Wall, so we went to Birdoswald, the remains of the famous Roman Fort as part of Hadrian's Wall. We hope you enjoyed our Carlisle travel guide as we explored the beautiful city centre of Carlisle and Hadrian's Wall. We really hope that we have shown you the top things to do and see in Carlisle. We Didn't Expect This - Wrexham Christmas Market Review

Welcome to this Wrexham Christmas Market review video. We have to admit, we didn't expect this. We thought Wrexham Christmas Market would be small, quite poor and lack atmosphere, but we couldn't have been more wrong, Wrexham Christmas Market was excellent and an absolute hidden gem of a Christmas Market in North Wales. If you're looking for Christmas Markets in North Wales, then we urge you to check out the Wrexham Christmas Market, we think you will be pleasantly surprised! Unlike many other UK Christmas Markets, many of which are over priced, all look the same and sell the same old stuff, the Wrexham Christmas Market felt different. Set in Bellevue Park in Wrexham, Wrexham's Christmas Market consisted of a number of wooden chalets plus a large marquee housing lots of local craft, food and drink stores, along with great live entertainment through the day. It didn't quite have the look of a usual UK Christmas Market, but it certainly had the feels and heart of a Christmas Market. One of the first people we spoke with was Ruth from Cwm Farm Charcuterie Products, who makes here own Salami. We bought some and it was amazing. Check out Cwm Farm at www.cwmfarm.co.uk We spent a lot longer in Wrexham Christmas Market that we thought we would and we sampled mulled wine, German Bratwurst, looked around the lovely stalls and enjoyed the live music. We can honestly say that Wrexham Christmas Market was the best Christmas Market that we visited this year and hopefully it will only continue to grow in the forthcoming years. In addition to visiting the Wrexham Christmas Market, in this video, we also share with you our quest to get a Christmas Tree. Due to building work in our house, we were late this year getting a Christmas Tree, in fact, we nearly didn't get one at all, so we hope you enjoy our challenge to get the Christmas Tree. We also visit Wrexham's Christmas Shop to top up on some decorations for the tree. As always, we have a sum up at the end where we want to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and New Year. This is the last of our Christmas videos this year, we hope you've enjoyed them and if you aren't already, maybe you would consider subscribing to the channel. Luminate Arley Hall Cheshire Review Vlog - Is It Worth A Visit?

Welcome to the Luminate Arley Hall, Cheshire review and vlog. In this Luminate review, we explore the magical light trail around the forests of Arley Hall, Cheshire and see if we think it's worth a visit. This year, there are six Luminate Trail Of Lights events over the United Kingdom, these are, Sandringham Estate, Margam Country Park, Shugborough Estate, Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Coombe Abbey and Arley Hall and it's the Arley Hall Luminate Trail of Light that we visited and absolutely loved. In this Luminate Arley Hall, Cheshire review vlog, we take a look at the entire trail of light in the gardens and forest of Arley Hall, near Warrington in Cheshire, United Kingdom and give you our honest opinion as to if we think it's worth a visit and worth the money. We visited Arley Hall in a similar light trail two years ago with the Harry Potter Forbidden Forest Experience, so had that in mind when we came to Luminate. To be honest, it was quite different, the Harry Potter Experience was a bit more interactive and had a few more light installations, but it was also over twice the price of Luminate. We really loved Luminate at Arley Hall and we hope this video gives you a good idea of what to expect if you're thinking of visiting Luminate at Arley Hall, Cheshire, or even if you're just interested in what a Christmas light trail looks like. This video takes a look at every part of the Luminate trail of light, but of course we have to stop for some mulled wine, marsh mallows and even some cheesy chips. We hope you enjoyed this Luminate, Arley Hall, Cheshire review vlog and if you're interested in seeing how it looked two years ago when it hosted the Harry Potter Forbidden Forest Experience, then check out our Harry Potter vlog, https://youtu.be/WEpIE9PpWGA Thank you for watching this Luminate Arley Hall Review Vlog and letting us tell you if we think it's worth a visit. The Manchester Christmas Market has around 300 stalls spread across eleven locations, visitors can enjoy seasonal treats, mulled wine, and a wonderful festive atmosphere. Whether you're after handmade gifts, craft items, or delicious food, the markets cater to all tastes and ages.
